Pastor McHenry Bolden, Jr. was born on September 9, 1970 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late McHenry Bolden, Sr. and Betty Yates Bolden. He is the grandson of the late Sam and Hester Edwards Bolden and Rev. Lamar and the late Earlean Kelker Yates.

At an early age, Pastor Bolden united with Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Jackson, Mississippi. He later united with Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Jackson, Mississippi. He is a graduate of Forest Hill High School and Co-Lin Community College, Wesson, MS. Pastor Bolden also completed courses at the Mississippi Baptist Seminary.

On February 5, 1994, Pastor Bolden married the former Jacqueline Johnson-Evans. He has three sisters: Regina Wilson, Yolanda Bolden, and Valerie (Pastor Elijah Paige).

On August 20, 1995, Pastor Bolden preached his first sermon entitled, “The Sorrow of Being Lost, but the Joy in Being Found.” On November 29, 1997, Pastor Bolden was ordained under the leadership of Pastor Robert E. Cook. Throughout his ministry, Pastor Bolden has served in various ministries. During his tenure at Greater Mt. Olive, he served as an usher, drummer and member of the choir. At Greater New Jerusalem, he served in the Young Adult Ministry, Outreach and Evangelism Ministries, Music Ministry and Teaching Ministry.

Pastor Bolden sang with “Slim and the Supreme Angels.” In 2010, he recorded his first CD in Tyler, Texas entitled, “Singing My Daddy’s Songs.” During 2011, God allowed Pastor Bolden to be Interim Pastor for Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Utica, MS, under the leadership of his late grandfather, Rev. Lamar Yates, who had pastored there for 56 years.

Pastor Bolden was called by God to preach the Gospel. On June 16, 2018, God blessed Pastor Bolden to meet with 17 adults and 7 young people to begin a new ministry. The congregation grew with wisdom and knowledge through his preaching and teaching the Word of God.
On August 5, 2018, God blessed Pastor Bolden to officially have his first worship service at 1800 TV Road, sharing a space with Open Doors Mennonite Church. The ministry would be called The Tabernacle Ministries (TTM).
